Roadside Cafe

The Roadside Cafe is an independent restaurant and take-away facility located on the A31 at Wimborne, Dorset. Opened in 2009 by the owner of a local chip & chip shop chain on the site of a former Little Chef, the restaurant is still serving road-users and the local community with quality food 7 days a week from Breakfast to supper.

Requirements
The Roadside Cafe initially required a strong visual branding, which would then be translated into everything from signage and uniforms, to menus and local advertising. A short process of naming was entered into and alternatives were explored, but the client decided to go with its original idea 'The Roadside Cafe'.

Solution
Cre8ive Wisdom was engaged to develop the strong visual branding and to launch the business. Working closely with the client, several stages of brand development were engaged to create and establish what then became the logo, strap line, colour scheme, font style and visual style of the brand and its food products. The branding was then developed into signage, including a large totem-pole signs outside and a range of shop header signage and internal display points. Menus were then developed and designed, alongside a range of leaflets and advertising to be used in and around the local area.

Outcome
The logo and the complete range of brand-related collateral delivered when the restaurant was launched including all elements of signage, menus and internal displays are all still in successful use two years on. The business continues to draw road-users and local regulars to it and the business continues to succeed in the same location.
